My drive towards entrepreneurship came from nearly two decades in the public service industry, where my livelihood was based on being on other people’s time and dime, and that wasn’t for me. When I first had the idea to start an ammunition company, it was actually when I was contracting in Afghanistan. One of the other contractors I was working with had had an ammo manufacturing company based in Panama. So, that conversation initially sparked the idea and then, for my birthday in 2020 my brother bought me my first ammo press, and that gift started me down this path. The reason I picked Rocky Ford for the name of my company is because at the time I was living in Etta, MS, near the Rocky Ford community and it struck me as a really cool name.

 For the first three years I spent my spare time doing research into the manufacturing process, market research, product analysis, building capital, and developing relationships with suppliers. I was building capital by saving my VA disability compensation and also, collecting fired brass at shooting ranges to sell them as scrap. I began manufacturing in November of 2023 with my first order of 100 rounds of .45 auto bullets for my brother.
